Akai Hexacomp C2M

Akai Hexacomp C2M

The Akai Hexacomp C2M is actually six compressors in a single pedal. The input signal split into 6 bands according to frequency and then fed to the individual compressors. Each compressor operates completely independently, with dedicated control of input gain and compression ratio for each band. The separate bands are then mixed and sent to the output gain control.

  • i generally find that most stompbox compressor pedals are pretty useless. The hexacomp has six different compression channels, each with their own controlable level! it's almost like an equalizer with compression. this is certainly a useful pedal to have, if you like to have subtle changes that gradually happen, it's very tweakable and very loud.
  • Good Points: maximum tweakability, separate input and output volumes.
  • Bad Points: i certainly haven't found one yet.
  • Price Paid: US$95.00
  • Purchased At: ebay
