  • It is just as tasty as it sounds.
  • Good Points: Classy green case. Nice cheap price. Sliders don't seem like they would break. VERY useful in a floop, and with all the knobs on high makes for a good saturated boost to turn the noise all the way up.
  • Bad Points: Plastic case.

  • Wanna do something cool? Put this after a high gain distortion and spike different frequency ranges. Yeah, that's right, that's how Merzbow does it. Alone in a floop, with HIGH volume on the floop and no volume on the pedal, certain frequencies make these little clicky sounds... it's very cool. Also capable of distorting things in a floop. Only EQ I've ever used, I assume the only reason to spend more would be for more range, you can't beat this. Buy one for every chain.
  • Good Points: Everything. Volume boost, Floop craziness, cheap price... uh, nice green case?
  • Bad Points: Okay, maybe not everything is good: Cheap plastic casing is bad. Won't be a problem if you're as anal with your pedals as I am (yep that sounds gross enough to finish this review).

  • a wonderful, tiny EQ pedal. takes up barely any space on the pedalboard/table/floor. an indispensable tool for giving your setup its own unique voice. stick it after your distortions/ring modulators/octave pedals and before your delays and reverbs and see the difference in your sound immediately.
  • Good Points: + good, cheap EQ + you can really sculpt your tones to your taste + great for boosting quieter effects
  • Bad Points: - Made of plastic - jacks on the back of the pedal
  • Price Paid: US$30.00

  • Really good, cheap EQ. Gets decent lows but it's really good at screechy highs and wailing mids (these things are intended for gtr after all). Great in a loop - I prefer using a bass EQ after a sound source.
  • Good Points: Screechy, cheap.
  • Bad Points: Small, light. It's not too flimsy but I get worried it'll get smashed by somethin in my bag. My fault for not having a pedalboard or something I guess.

  • great tone shaping capabilities, shove the mid up all the way and cause everyone in a 500 foot radius to feel uncontrollably nauseus, cut off the highs and mid and get some nice rumbles, stick it at the end of your chain to increase dynamics.
  • Good Points: Small.Cheap.Green.
  • Bad Points: Small.Tiny sliders.Sounds a bit samey after a while.

  • If you're not familiar with the intricacies of very carefully adjusted levels, you will be disappointed with this pedal in a floop - at best, without precision it functions as a tone generator. With practice and articulate adjustments, however, this piece of equipment can generate monster noises completely by itself - squeals, barks, squelches, pulsing high-pitches.. it's all there, you just have to know how to harness it! As tested, works well for more conventional but still noisy purposes as well - brings out relevant frequencies in any input, though it seems to have a better time amplifying the low end. The knobs are easy to adjust and tweak on the fly for cool loops or oscillations, and it looks totally cool! Plus, Danelectro's food line - despite the bad reputation, these things have awesome names - and I don't even like fish and chips!
  • Good Points: -Wicked in a feedback loop with the right settings and know-how -Great low-end amplification -Easy to adjust on the fly -CHEAP AS SHIT (well, maybe not that cheap) -Sweet-ass name
  • Bad Points: -It does feel admittedly a little plasticy or flimsy -Emulated bypass -Weak-ass without proper usage -High end not as effective as low end

  • Lovely... as far as noise goes, I've only tried it in an internal feedback loop... it's a lot of fun in a loop with a distortion and flanger... I got a lot of weird, modulating high and low noise that went from weird sub bass rumbling into high-pitched mic feedback sounds... It works great for boosting volume/levels... it also helps to clean up some unwanted noise in a chain...
  • Good Points: It's fucking adorable, for one... Totally silent. very cheap and widely available. Plastic case it durable enough... I've never had issues with Danelectro cases... it's pretty damn hard plastic. It's small so it fits in cramped pedal boards and anywhere else nicely.
  • Bad Points: THE SWITCH! I really don't like their switches... I always feel like I'll break something when I press down as hard as I have to to activate it. It's also got a bad rep. for apparently shitting out on a lot of people.

  • For such a tiny and cheap pedal, it can't be beat. Yea, it's flimsy plastic and yea, the EQ is optimized for guitar so it's not always going to be great for every signal you throw its way (I've found it downright useless for synths, but fantastic for vocals or microphone sounds). But it's a great pedal to have around anyway, for those times when you need to EQ a chain, or just add some boost to a weak signal, or to emphasize the lows or highs. And obviously its ridiculously tiny size makes it easy to slip in virtually anywhere. Doesn't add much (or any) coloring to the sound, just a straightforward EQ and a good one at that.
  • Good Points: -clean, no coloration of sound -tiny size -affordable
  • Bad Points: -flimsy-feeling case -EQ optimized for guitar band (but so are all pedal-sized EQs, so that's not just specific to this one)

  • I picked this up on the way to a show. I was at the store plugged it in and was amazed at how clean it sounded. It boosts and cuts signal as well, if not better, than the MXR + Boss EQs. Also it's the smallest pedal EVER with 8 sliders on it. All good, BUT I broke it within 4 hours. I'd recommend picking one up, just be gentle with it.
  • Good Points: Sounds surprisingly great for a DE pedal. I wish all my pedals were this small.
  • Bad Points: DE pedals basically come broken out of the box.

  • The DJ-14 is an affordable and effective means by which to sculpt guitar textures. Radical shifts in almost any conventional frequency range are possible.
  • Good Points: In addition to standard uses, it can be utilized to severly modulate the pitch of a feedback loop, especially in the lower register.
  • Bad Points: The internal components look flimsy.

  • as others have said this is a clean and easy EQ, i got mine for 27 bucks and i consider it quite a worthy purchase.
  • Good Points: small, decent amount of sliders although they are probably calibrated for guitar which might not be ideal with some sound sources. it's fun to just plug a cable into it and touch the plug while messing with sliders. however, i discovered that if you connect one battery terminal to the clip and fidget with the other one agaist the other battery terminal, you can get some great little shrill noises.
  • Bad Points: seems to eat batteries pretty quick, but doesn't everything? does emit a weird squelch at power up so watch your ears.
  • Price Paid: US$27.00

  • Probably the quietist EQ I've ever used. Much better than Boss or DOD. An EQ can radically change your sound, you can lofi it up for noise or boost it for feedback. Not very reliable though, but you're not going to stomp on it as much as other Dano minis.
  • Good Points: Great quiet operation. EQ's are great for noise. Very affordable.
  • Bad Points: Poor reliablity.

  • the fish and chips is a nice little eq pedal. its a seve band eq and also has a level. its nice to have if you want to cut a certain freq. out of your sound. which will cause certain overtones to come out. its also good if you want to boost a certain freq. it has a good lower freq. and it has good high freqs. if your looking for a good eq but don't want to spend alot, this pedal is for you. costs 49.99 and comes in a small package. it'll fit in your palm. good for gigs or studio.
  • Good Points: small, effective, good little eq
  • Bad Points: haven't found any bad points
