Ibanez Super Metal SML

Ibanez Super Metal SML

It has 5 knobs for tweaking tone and distortion: three tone, one for distortion, and one for level. With an eq pedal in line after this pedal, there are about a zillion distortion possibilities available. It is one of the highest gain distortion pedals that Ibanez put out in the 1980's with around 65db of gain.

  • Well. It's a distortion pedal. It's not as weak as some of the others out there. It has a nice high gain to it and with the 3 knobs for tweaking the gain (one pregain treble, 2 post gain(bass/treble)) it can be quite versatile. Would have never known what those 3 knobs(attack, punch, edge) were actually until I did some reading. It has it's uses but lately I only seem to use it in a power electronics setting.
  • Good Points: Nice gain.
  • Bad Points: Battery door release is a major pain in the ass. Go Godlyke!
