  • I bought this multi-effect hoping it would be a good alternative to all the now-out-of-production ModFX units... Sadly, it wasn't what I expected, but it still had its uses. There were only a few times were I got this to sound *really* good in a feedback loop, but it seems to work best as a "set it and forget it" processor near the end of a chain, unless you have an EXP unit to control it. The manual is full of really stupid preset titles, which can be kind of fun to read through... It should really be run with an isolated adapter...
  • Good Points: The pitch shifter is soooo cheesy, but that's what I liked about it... It's almost like a cheap voice changer. All the non-standard effects, such as the Ring Mod and Decimator, and the filter effects, while limited when stuck using the on-board knob for tweaking, provided useful. The Decimator in particular was capable of some interesting vowel sounds when placed after various wah/filter effects... Lots of internal signal routing options. Decent spacial effects (reverbs specifically).
  • Bad Points: Plastic construction, save for the thin metal base... It feels flimsy. Hard to tweak--needs an exp. unit plugged into it to get the most out of it. This unit can be really f'ing noisy and thin-sounding at times--It probably needs to be run with an isolated power supply instead of a daisychain. Bypassing the pedal is a pain in the ass (sometimes it accidentally goes into the muted tuning mode), and, like most multi's, it can color the signal in potentially-undesirable ways. Keep this in an effects loop to alleviate both of these problems (loopers are very easy to build)!
