It's a pre-amp booster, and it does what it says. I needed a volume boost and it does the job, but I found it works much better placed after a weaker effect to boost the signal rather than before an effect to drive the signal going in. Opened it up and it's 100 analog, which surprised me. Bass and treble EQ are an added bonus and can be used for basic tone shaping. For the price I'd buy one for each of the low-output pedals in my rig.
Good Points: Simple clean boost with basic EQ, 100% analog, and costs $30
Bad Points: Location of 9v power jack on right side is a big design flaw
