  • I play in a psychadelic rock band(floyd style w/ a little lips, mogwai, radiohead & doors). I play keys and synths and I have used the pc2 two different ways. I have put both a keyboard on a synth setting and also a drum machine into the input. If I used a keyboard, I hold the sustain pedal down or hold a single key down with a roll of nickles, usually a lower note and I minipulate the knobs to get really cool, trippy and psychadelic sounds. Definately not a lead instrument here, but great for adding perfectly placed effects and noice. I love mine!!!
  • Good Points: Range of different sounds with 6 different knobs. Uniquness and rarity. A lot of people ise these in movie studios, using them to add sci-fi and space noices.
  • Bad Points: Not many if you're buying this for the right reason and not expect more thsn what it can do.

  • Mostly this thing just puts out really silly bleeps and bloops, but at the more extreme low end settings it can output some serious rumbling frequencies that can shake walls, etc. the lfo is nice, you can run this through a ring mod and get all kinds of screwed metal screeching sounds. or just general space sounds through a delay. vaguely theremin type sounds are available as well. its fun to pound on a metal box too..
  • Good Points: awesome low end rumbling, weird space sounds
  • Bad Points: kinda getting rare? a little expensive

  • ah i love this thing. i bought it based on the previous review and i've found a myriad of things to do with it.. run it off a stereo pedal and whenever enough sound pumps through, it triggers.. this means it can be a constant tone if you're pumping enough sound through (say off an aux send) - really controllable sound, especially the sweep and lfo depth and rate knobs. i love using it with my DD5 - sample a hit and let it pan it out to pedals, and the other out to the trigger for cracked rhythms.
  • Good Points: uh great synth tones, yes its totally moon patrol but you can use that to your advantage. put distortion after it and it sings. external input is great with sampling delay to hit your rhythm for you. very tweakable sound.
  • Bad Points: sounds like a PC-2. i've heard a few recordings i can pull this sound out of - but its a great pedal.

  • A neat toy, but its use for noise is limited. It's easy to use, just bang on the trigger pad, and twiddle the knobs. The sounds it produces are cheesy Atari 2600 type sounds. Of course, if you're going to crush it under a mountain of effects, this might do for noise. The best thig about this box is that it produces some real icepick in the ear high frequency sounds. The downside is that the decay times for the sounds it makes are never long enough. Run it through a couple delays, or you'll be banging on the trigger often. When used on it's own it's a little too "Moon Patrol" for my liking. Also, it won't produce a good low frequency sound. Its lowest setting just doesn't have enough bass to create a good rumble.
  • Good Points: Great high frequency sounds.
  • Bad Points: Decay times are too short. Most of the sounds are cheesy, video game fare. It won't produce good low frequency sounds.
