  • Used this sweety for guitar, but then one day we started to send some movies and stuffs into it, then a soundcard too, that outed' some drum noises from a tracker software, and I must say, its _THE_ solution for instant distortion, now I am absolutely in love with it. Must have, because of the price. (ADapter wasnt included, and I dont wanted to use it with battery, so I had to make one.)
  • Good Points: brutal sound, cheap
  • Bad Points: only distortion, i had to assemble an adapter
  • Price Paid: US$50.00

  • This is a sweet distortion. I really think if Digitech had just given it a new name and broke all ties to the old DOD version, a lot of people would have a much better opinion of it. Of course, it's no replacement for the DOD, but it's a killer distortion nonetheless. I haven't found many distortions that I find brutal enough to be used consistently, but this is one of them. It's very bassy, and the tone controls don't seem to have much effect unless one frequncy range is SERIOUSLY boosted or cut compared to the others, but don't think that this is a one trick pony. It's just got it's own personality.
  • Good Points: Ripping, bassy distortion that will flood your soul with hate.
  • Bad Points: I wish the knobs felt sturdier. Absolutely nothing else.

  • It never hurts to have a death metal pedal around, and the digitech version is pretty nice (and cheap) if it's time for high gain action. The eq here is really useful and better than a lot of distortion eqs I've used, so you can actually get some subtle grit if you want, but it's more of a roar pedal than anything. It's easy to get it to oscillate but the eq helps you avoid that if you want. I was skeptical about the speaker sim (mixer) output, and it ain't gonna fool anybody, but it is a good sounding alternative to the straight (amp) out. Pretty much lives in my feedback loop.
  • Good Points: Really cheap, useful and varied distortion, dual (and different sounding) outs, excellent eq, works well with other distortions.
  • Bad Points: Not a ton of range, but that's no suprise.

  • Bloody brutal crush!!!!! This is the pedal for noise no doubt about it. My favorite part is the sickening lows you get with this beast, that and the total lack of mercy. If you are looking for a pedal that will just flat out rip your face off , this is that pedal. The Eq is very effective for controlling your sound I was very surprised by how versatile it is. At the end of the day however if you are looking for a pedal with lots of range, this might not be it. This thing is set on straight up kill , that's why I love it , no prisoners, slaughter all in your path! This also has two outs on it very helpful for feedback loops.I use this and a Metal Zone as my two main distortions in my feedback loops ,with this as the last pedal in the loop I am assured total crush. Oh yeah it also feeds back by itself no source needed, very useful for people who don't have a huge budget!!!!
  • Good Points: sick, disgusting distortion very nice three band Eq runs on standard 9 volt adaptors barrel style high quality pedal affordable (I got mine off ebay for 55 bucks new with the adaptor)
  • Bad Points: Eats battery's but other than that it's a great pedal for noise
  • Price Paid: US$55.00

  • Looks like this is THE distortion unit for noise, as almost everybody uses one. So I had to check it out to and you know what: this thing is total killer. First: You do not need any signal to feed it in, the death-medal screams by itself, giving feedback as hell. Tweak the three-band eq to change the frequency. Second: The eq really works out fine. The lows rumble, the highs scream and the mids ... are really nice mids. Third: You have two outputs. One which carries the straight signal, another with a speaker sim. This makes to death-metal the perfect weapon to blast any feedback loop. So, after toying around with it I found out that it works totally fine for processing vocals, it is perfect for feedback loops and it will destroy any signal you put into it.
  • Good Points: - cheap - vile distortion - two outputs - screams by itself - very nice eq
  • Bad Points: - use it with a power adapter as it rips through batteries

  • Not very different from the DOD version; it's more harsh, less chaotic. I like it 'cause the two outputs are very useful and very different! You can use this as a sound source if you don't plug in anything: it will scream by itself, depending on the eq position.
  • Good Points: -cheap and solid; -same good points of DOD version (harsh, noisy, good EQ, ...); -two different outputs.
  • Bad Points: -none
