Ibanez Cyberdrive CD5
This pedal gives is a filtered distortion along the lines of a wah set to a stationary point in its sweep. The tone control is the key to the sound of this pedal. To the left, the tone acts like the up position of a wah. To the right, the tone acts like a wah in the down position. The center position is fairly neutral with no real bandpass filtering effect. It has a really cool electronic sound. Not too bassy but very computer like with a lot of high ends and static.

- Well, if you want to create screeching white noise, or make ear pearcing feedback sounds this is a good pedal.
If you want to create good overdriven atmospheric sounds, its really to plastic. What you can use this for is noise, or probably low fi black metal/metal aswell.
You can use the tone knob, a little bit like a cutoff, which is pretty nice.
The plastic case isnt really sturdy. But this is a cheap pedal, and good for its price. - Good Points: Pretty good for white noise, and some types of high pitch screechs. The tone knob works like a cutoff which is good for some real time tweaking. Its cheap, but pretty good.
- Bad Points: Too plastic if you use it for other things than high pitch sounds or over the top distorted stuff. Not so sturdy case. It feels cheap.

- With a name like "cyberdrive" and per the reviews by others on this site, I'm pretty disappointed in the lack of gain. It really isn't much. The tone knob sounds like a wah pedal, which creates the synthetic sounding "distortion" when all the way up... one might even call the sound "distinctive", though that's not always great. Palm muting on guitar sounds like playing with copper wire. I'll bet it would be cool when paired with another pedal and used in more secondary tone alterations.
- Good Points: strange sound. mmmm, cool name, I guess.
- Bad Points: strange sound. typical shoddy construction. not very versatile. the gain sucks.

- very nice white noise sounds attaind with this. coupled with a danelectro octave distortion makes it ah soo much better. no volume problems, and easy to get good sounds out of. on the other hand it has very crappy construction. the foot pedal isnt very receptive when pushing it making this pedal slightly unreliable. but ive only encountered this problem on occasion. also the knobs are horrible for tweaking, especially if you have large fingers. since im a smaller guy this isnt much of a problem, but for you bigger guys out there beware. works decently in a feedback loop...but again should be coupled with another pedal or two.
- Good Points: good for some white noise nice tonality
- Bad Points: crappy knobs and plastic construction dont make this very reliable

- Fizzling, hissy distortion w/ tone control that is actually a fairly high-resonance filter which has quite a useful range - sounds about equivalent to the DOD envelope filter. Not particularly great in a line loop, but it's perfect for processing signals fed into it. The distortion is a little weak and thin, though that's not the main reason to own this pedal. Main complaints are w/ construction and design, the battery cover gets in the way when trying to tweak the controls, plus the knobs are smooth w/o any kind of grip, which makes it a little more difficult.
- Good Points: Wide range resonant filter for tone section, synthetic sounding distortion (it's either good or bad depending on your point of view). Cheap
- Bad Points: Shoddy construction and design

- This pedal creates a nice, white noise hiss with the distortion knob turned all the way up. The distortion almost seems to be the original signal overdriven, and blended with a noise generator. Very synthetic and digital. As stated above, the tone knob controls a band pass filter. The filter's range is fairly wide, and it is quite resonant. A good pedal to make big, nasty filter sweeps with. The unfortunate thing about this pedal is that the distortion is rather thin and ordinary when the distortion knob is turned below maximum. You've got to max this thing out for the hissing, fax machine sounds.
- Good Points: Good digital distortion / white noise source. Wide range on the filter. Loud.
- Bad Points: Distortion is thin, and typical when not maxed out. Aparently, they aren't very common, so they could become expensive in the future.
