  • This thing actually is pretty good, I used it with an Ampeg and a bass with some Phat humbuckers though. It can potentially add some serious meat to your tone. It doesn't just melt your bass in with guitars either it actually still keeps its definitive edge. As always, tonelok is an excellent Idea, and no worries with strength.
  • Good Points: Strong. Doesn't cover our tone completely. Tonelok is excellent.
  • Bad Points: Can't make masses of noise.
  • Price Paid: US$0.00

  • This pedal actually has some noise potential! It has 4 knobs and 2 three mode switches which give it enough to tweak a bit. There is a marked difference between the 'OD' and 'distortion' settings, the distortion being a saturated high gain metal sound. There is a slider switch for 'attack' also which can kind of crispen the sound a bit. This series of pedals is well built and mine really took a beating live several times, used in conjunction with the mxr M-80 distortion/DI. Together some obnoxious feedback can be created or used with a phaser I found some weird tones and sceeches. This pedal actually has more potential for strange combinations of sound with noise-guitar, even though it's meant for straight bass. It seems to give out odder sounds and more white noise when the battery is low. Decent but not obnoxious enough for most noisicians' taste.
  • Good Points: 4 control knobs can be clicked in and recessed after settings are made, a safeguard feature so your settings don't change in the heat of stage mayhem. Built like a brick sheisse-house. Fast and easy battery swapping. Enough knobs and switches to make it reasonably tweakable. OD and distortion channels. Another metally distortion with good low-end to throw in the ol' chain.
  • Bad Points: The 'clean' setting sounds muddy, in a silly way, not cool or noisy. 'Drive' knob is pretty much the same from 0-10, not much difference in actual drive or sound.

  • An overdrive with poor possibility of tweaking... The sound is more boring than Boss ODB-3, and it hasn't a fuzz sound. The only good point of this pedal is the sound not clear but noisy. Ah, the distortion is tooo dry.
  • Good Points: -very noisy
  • Bad Points: -no tweaking -dry distortion -no fuzzy sound
