Jomox M-Resonator

The Jomox M-Resonator is an analog filter device with substantial signal processing power. The delicate arrangement of an envelope follower and two filters produce complex results that defy explanation, making the M-Resonator an unrivaled tabletop processor. An audio signal can be processed alone or two signals can be filtered into each other, both able to generate mind-bending stereo effects. The intuitive knob placement and silkscreened graphics demonstrate how signals can be fed back in every way. At times, subtle knob adjustments create adverse and unpredictable changes in the soundscape for instant fun! Despite its simple layout, the M-Resonator invites the user to a lifetime of mastery. • the jomox m-res is a great box for creating lots of crazy sounds. not really a traditional filter, but more like a lowpass filter + feedbacker + glitch box. it can do subtle bird chirps, wooshes, harsh feedback, and lots more. you really need take the time to sit down, feed it whatever sound source your using and play with all the knobs. every time ive used it, ive conjured up new sounds. this unit isnt about instant gratification though, it takes lots of experimentation to find a sound thats right for you. once you find a setting you like, write down the knob settings so you can refer back to it later, then play around with it again to see what other insanity you can come up with. overall, this unit sounds amazing. lots of possibilities, built like a tank, has the ability to run in stereo and is a great tool for sound experimenters.
  • Good Points: -killer analog tones -lots of ways to twist your sound up -can be used as a stand alone self oscillator/feedback machine
  • Bad Points: -takes awhile to get the hang of it -big adapter -no led status light (on/off) -a bit pricey if bought new
  • Price Paid: US$250.00
  • Purchased At: analouge haven forum
