  • Early 1970's KAY 'Wah Wah 1' pedal with Germanium Transistors. Still sounds cool after 38 years of use.

Bought it new in 1973 for £7.50 from ABC Music in Addlestone in Weybridge, Surrey UK.

I remember the event as clear as day, although it was a cold and dark November evening as I raced there after school...

  • Good Points: This represents a massive piece of my playing life as was my only pedal for years as gives raunchy OD/distortion too amongst other clever effects when used in combination with reverb/tremolo etc... enjoy a piece of sonic history here:

  • Bad Points: I am not 16 anymore and cannot go and buy the other models in the series - the Tremolo and Fuzz - for £7.50ea too!
  • Price Paid: US$7.50
  • Purchased At: ABC Music in Addlestone in Weybridge, Surrey UK circa 1975
