  • The LXP-5 is a half-rack mulifx unit from the late 80's with a plethora of noise-friendly features. Editing can be extremely difficult, but there are plenty of presets with unconventional settings.
  • Good Points: Offers LFO-controlled pitch shifting, dense, metallic reverbs, and multiple delay lines. The input, output, and mix controls allow for compatibility with various setups. Select and adjust knobs can be tweaked in real time. Has input level and clip LEDs. MIDI compatible.
  • Bad Points: Larger than many other half rack processors. No power switch. Programming is extremely difficult with the faceplate interface, and the control labels are difficult to read. There is a well-documented history of units malfunctioning because of faulty or worn pots.
  • Price Paid: US$69.00
