  • Better than the MT2? Well, it depends on what you want it for. The MT2 always colored the sound in a way I didn't really like, while the Metal Planet is insanely clean, even with volume and distortion cranked, so it's even more a question of taste than most pedal comparisons. The eq on this is definitely the best I've ever used on a distortion pedal, it's just as good with highs and lows as with mids, and there's plenty of gain, everything you'd want in a "metal" pedal. It's also cheap -- I got mine NIB for about the same price as a used MT2. The case is solid metal (it's about twice as wide as a regular pedal, which is fine for me but if space is an issue keep it in mind), the knobs are smooth and I like having the switch exposed. Definitely worth a listen if you're looking for more control over what you've already got set up and not looking for a super-harsh signal killer.
  • Good Points: Great for keeping tone Excellent eq Great addition to other distortions
  • Bad Points: Kinda big

  • so looking for something to replace my dod super american metal pedal, cause the dod had loss of volume issues, i turned to this. i red somewhere it was boss hm clone, but with the circuitry changed around, thus giving it alot more bass and high. being one to avoid boss pedals like the plague, i cant compare this to it the hm. i can tell you this does give a good amount of bass, not as much as my american metal, but i think thats due to the sustain on this which it has a good amount. the high, low are on one knob, which is alright but would have been better seperated. the added feature this thing has over the super american is mid control, which is nice to use and scoop out those frequencies. this thing plays nicely in a feedback loop, and well is relatively cheap to own. looking for a gainy, gritty distortion with alot of control? look no further.
  • Good Points: solid metal construction blue led good color good tone control all around harsh/gritty distortion with deffinate character
  • Bad Points: would have liked to see the high and low knob seperate...but other than that...none really...
