  • Very simple phaser, depth, feedback and speed controls. Second series Tokai pedals, and built to a cost, as the casing is ABS plastic, and not the military grade metal versions they also produced. Seems sturdy enough though, I bought mine very well used, bashed up really, but the pedal was intact and in good working order. The sound is really quite good, but can be a bit toppy, brittle in the high end. I find it has a very pleasant sweep, and it doesnt seem to suck too much tone. It is a tad noisy, but I can live with it. The sound is good enough to forgive those little flaws. It could really do with a treble roll off/tone control. Oh, and the jack sockets are metal, which is good...
  • Good Points: Good sound for the money, these pedals can still be found for little money and are as good as vintage. It wont be long till prices start to go up for the Tokai pedals, their guitars fetch high prices in Europe these days, and the effects are likely to follow suit. They are quite rare really, and recieve good reviews wherever they are reviewed. And rightly so.
  • Bad Points: Construction....plastic...not good. It seems to be a tough plastic, but still...its not really what you want in a stompbox. It needs to be metal, it just does. Also, a plastic box will not shield the electronics from interference, metal will do that to a degree. As mentioned before, a tone control would not be a luxury on this pedal.
