Ibanez Session-Man SS10

Ibanez Session-Man SS10

The SS10 Session-Man combines distortion and chorus. The distortion is very similar to TS-9. Punchy and fat full-out, and biting. The chorus is extremely lush, smooth and full.

  • Wow, i find it very difficult to belive that nobody has this pedal! First off let's talk about the controls. this pedal combines a distortion pedal and a chorus into one pedal! you cna switch between two modes, seri.(series) and para.(parallel). the series mode layers the chorus then distortion, and the parallel, well runs them parallel(duh). The visable knobs, you have chrs. lvl, distortion, distortion tone, and distortion lvl., all very straight forward controls. But, ladies and gentleman it certainly doesn't stop there. under the pedal where the battery is housed there are two pots(actually they look more like trimmers)that you can adjust with a small phillips head screwdriver. these adjust the speed and the depth of the chorus. so this pedal has a tweakability factor of seven, and that is pretty damn good for an off the shelf pedal. This thing is a gain monster, it'll take your original signal and boost it quite a bit. This was my favorite pedal for a little while(what do you know about the Session Man II?). i kept it in a feedback loop, so it's gain and chorus turned a baby crying elephant chirp into space dolphins surfing the crab nebula! Now i mostly keep it at the end of my train, adding a bit of gain after my big muff, and crunch the hell out of my signal. So, if your looking for a little extra gain, a pinch of chorus and some distortion, just to add crunchiness, This pedal is a champ.
  • Good Points: monstrous tweakability for a mass production pedal, i'd definately be sad if i lost it or something happened to it. it takes the place of two pedals.
  • Bad Points: i personally never liked the ibanez switches, they seem rather cheap, though i've never actually broke one. It's also a pain sometimes to tweek the inner controls, but i do like this feature. Definately the Dracula of batteries though. Oh yeah they also no longer make it.
