Akai Intelliphase Analog Phaser P1

Akai Intelliphase Analog Phaser P1

A smart little phaser with the usual controls for Depth, Speed, and Feedback, plus an added feature -- Touch Phaser. First you set the threshold for Touch Phaser with a Sensitivity control. Then you select Soft Touch or Hard Touch Mode. In soft, effects are added only when the input level is under threshold. In hard, effects are added only when input level exceeds threshold. 2 really distinctive effects. Footswitch turns effects on or off.

Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price: $140.00

  • Phasers are an aquired taste in noise it seems. i would imagine this would be an excellent phaser for a guitarist, but for noise i find it to be average. far better than a dod, but honestly, if i need phase, i usually just grab the small stone, you get better depth and range with that. the intelliphase has all your usual controls, depth, apeed, feedback but also contains a sensitivity knob. his comes into use when you toggle the switch between hard touch and soft touch. but this feature works best for stringed instuments and not really at all with just an electric signal.
  • Good Points: excellent akai quality, decent sound, not the best phaser but not the worst either.
  • Bad Points: batteries....yum.
