Big analog sound in a small package! Nothing sounds as great as real analog filtering. Filterqueen can turn the dullest, most lifeless signals into lush, warm, phat sounds. Use an expression pedal to control the Band, Notch, Low Pass or High Pass filters and go way beyond the classic Wah sounds. Or use the band limited envelope follower to trigger filter sweeps. Produce surreal Phase shifting effects by combining our unique "negative" resonance with the Notch filter and a fast LFO. FilterQueen is the first multi mode, stereo filter ever to hit this price range and if that's not enough, its audio quality will impress even the most discerning ear. Powerful sound shaping, wicked price. Sound Investment. Combining quality, versatility and price, FilterQueen will endure from hobby to pro. Does Size Matter? Our Unique 10" tabletop/modular rack-mount design can easily find a home in your space. Raise the Dead! Nothing is as powerful or sounds as great as real analog filtering. Four Filter Types. Choose between Low pass, High Pass, Band Pass and Notch filters. Five Waveforms: saw tooth, inverse saw tooth, triangle, square and random. The Envelope Follower creates a unique sound-shaping palette with depth, shape and band limiting controls. The LFO can be used at the same time as the envelope follower for some f***ed-up modulations. The Expression Pedal input lets you play the frequency like a Wah pedal. Loads of I/O allows you to run virtually anything through the FilterQueen.

  • Well, I traded an old Reel to Reel for this thing. I'm pretty happy with it so far. First sitting down with it I was kind of annoyed, thinking I'd never use it. But then I sat down again with it and decided to make use of it subtly. I think that's the only way this thing can be used. Or I guess there's 2 ways: insane flailing LFO sweeps or finding a setting and using it subtly. The sound quality is Awesome! We have an Alesis Philtre in the house as well, and it'll likely never get used again. It's not really a fair comparison though. As the Philtre is all digital (i'll complain about that over there sometime). The FQueen can put out the Lowest of Lows you can imagine, and with the LFO turned of it's just like adding a huge sub to your sound, it'll just sit there, and then you can slowly adjust the Freq and Resonance knobs (which are ironically a little larger than all of the other knobs...). I only just got this, but the sounds it's producing already are enough to recommend this to anyone. The only worthwhile compact filter I know of.

  • Great compact analog filter unit, in a way the various options remind me of the Alesis Philtre, but whereas the Alesis is all digital this utilizes an analog circuit for filtering. And it shows, setting a high resonance and playing with the LFO section it'll get quite bubbly and gurgly sounding, also piercing highs and rumbling lows are obtainable. Various combinations of the "band" setting on the envelope follower section and filter type (low/high/band-pass or notch) will yield different results depending on input signal, some better than others. Momentary function allows you drop the effect in or out just by tapping a single button, not particularly inovative, but requires less effort than any number of pedals. Easy to use once you figure out the controls and stereo ins and outs to boot.
  • Good Points: analog, compact, stereo ins and outs
  • Bad Points: nothing I can find at the moment

  • A killer unit, I used it in a feedback loop which I could manipulate with the controls. In this unusual setup, the Filter Queen's build quality, solid sound and thoughtful layout shone through, definitely an asset for a noise sourcing rig. In a more conventional setup it can add depth and bite to melodic or drifting elements. Highly recommended.
  • Good Points: Great build quality, ease of use, analog sound.
  • Bad Points: As above - discontinued.

  • i really like this little unit. it can really add a lot of low end and completely tweak some dry instruments(theremin) to give them a lot more depth and richness of sound. quite a nice addition to the sound source in between songs. plus it is cheap in the used market and easy to use.
  • Good Points: cheap, versitile, well made, small.
  • Bad Points: maybe i just do not know how, but i wish that you could choose the sourc and run multiple things through the unit. like having one effected and one not.

  • better than the filter factory, but it tended to get drowned out when amongst other effects. i moved it around everywere...but it just didnt stand out enough for my tastes amongst all the high gain distortions and what not...
  • Good Points: good bassy sound good construction
  • Bad Points: can get lost in a loop not being made anymore

  • Great little addition to my setup. I run a lot of tiny sounding sounds through it and make them sound crazy. It's a very powerful tool. It's much different than the filter factory. The filter factory is good for rhythms and beats and the filter queen is good for random sounds and basslines and such. It doesn't self resonate like the filter factory does, but i think that's a good thing for the way i apply its use. This thing definitely takes some time to get use to. I still discover new things that it can do and i get better all the time at getting sounds on demand instead of having to search and fall upon a cool sound through trial and error.
  • Good Points: It can make some indcredible sounds out of dinky dry sounds from cheap keyboards. It's great for transforming normal baselines into a something wierd and unique. Plus its cheap for now. foot switch and expression pedals can be used with this thing.
  • Bad Points: The 4pole/2pole switch is on back. kinda noisy when you turn it on and off, but who cares. it's performance gear but i use it in the studio too.

  • just picked this beast up today and i've spent the past few hours tweaking with it. extremely nice slow sweeps, warbly bass sounds and overall thick sound. all this without running anything through it.. played an sk-1 through it w/ the lfo on random, fast and deep.. rocked the walls. seriosly core piece of gear at a nice price. i see lots of potential in this thing.
  • Good Points: easy to use, nice phat sounds, almost like a mini-synth. bubbly bass, crazy resonance and fairly nice lfo setup.
  • Bad Points: sometimes hard to coax a good sound out of, but i've just gotten so i expect to learn a lot more about it in the next while

  • I haven't used many other filter, but for I can't imagine any other filter out there that could top this one. Not only does this little effects unit have stereo 1/4" and RCA ins/outs, but it has a built in preamp (phono/line button on back). One thing that really makes this unit stand out is, the design. It was built to be used as an instrument, thusly is perfect for live manipulation of any sound. It's extremely aesthetically pleasing to work with, and it produces the analog sounds to match. It's got a momentary button, which is a definite plus. I'm still exploring the possibilities with no end in sight.
  • Good Points: Too many to list. check out: www.electrixpro.com/products/filterqueen.html
  • Bad Points: Adds a little noise in a chain of effects or in an effects loop, but not much more than any other effects pedal. There's no power switch, but again, that's pretty standard for many effects pedals and such.
