The Electro Harmonix Deluxe Octave Multiplexer generates sub-octave tones one and two octaves below the input signal, with independent volume controls for each sub-octave voice. A Dry control blends the unaffected guitar signal with the generated octaves, allowing the effect to sit underneath or dominate the original sound. The pedal tracks monophonic input, and its analog circuitry responds to picking dynamics, producing a thicker, synth-like texture when lower octaves are emphasized. A switch selects between the two sub-octave intervals, and the unit operates with a standard 9V power supply.
