  • This review is for the readily available Lil' Big Muff reissue. I paid seventy bucks for mine new. I love this thing!!! Ninety percent of the time I run a Sirkut WNG into it and right out into either a Death metal or my Metal Maniac and damn it is crushing. I find that I pretty much don't ever fuck with this pedal, it's more a set and forget deal. I have it cranked , if I do play with it I only use the tone Knob. I love this pedal , I might get a regular size Big Muff one of these days and do a comparison but for now this lil' bitch is adding some major filth to my walls!!!!!
  • Good Points: Not too expensive Retard easy to use small looks cool and is built like a tank runs off any nine volt adaptor for walls this thing is amazing!!!!
  • Bad Points: Trying to get to the battery is amazingly difficult, you practically have to take the whole pedal apart!
  • Price Paid: US$70.00

  • it's a pretty good pedal. i think i liked my black russian Muff more, but this was really good. it had more bite and was a little bassier. i got kind of bored of it eventually, and traded it for a DOD Death Metal. i like the Death Metal better since I've already got other fuzzes. a little disappointed. i want to tryout a Bass Big Muff.
  • Good Points: - very bassy
  • Bad Points: - it gets MUDDY
  • Price Paid: US$50.00

  • This review is for the recent reissue of the Little Big Muff with three knobs (volume, tone, sustain) in the die cast XO case. I enjoy the amount of low end and rumbling distortion that comes through this pedal in both a feedback loop and with an external sound source. Also, with the sustain knob all the way up, you can create ringing, chiming fuzz with very little input from a pick-up or contact mic. Currently, I use this after a Boss DS-1 in a feedback loop. For the most part, I use the two to manage the low end and high end sounds respectively. In terms of durability, the case seems to be a big improvement over the full size Big Muff Pi reissues.
  • Good Points: more durable case than the full size Big Muff warm fuzz and sustain great for managing the low end in a feedback loop
  • Bad Points: can sound too compressed with the tone and sustain knobs both up fairly high
  • Price Paid: US$60.00

  • great fuzzy sustain. works well in a feedback loop for huge boomy explosions to high screeches. can be difficult to use for just a touch of sustain...
  • Good Points: sounds huge. solid construction. (mine is the nwer nyc build in a hammond case)
  • Bad Points: doesn't work well for only a small amount of fuzz/sustain.

  • I have a 1979 model. Awesome sound: more compressed than USA Big Muff, but less harsh than the russian one. Great volume boost. The tone selector let you to choose from bass sound or treble sound. Mine has been modded 'cause I wanted a true bypass. Now it's perfect.
  • Good Points: -the sound of the best Muff in a small pedal
  • Bad Points: -none
  • Price Paid: US$80.00
