Its an upgraded Booster Shot clean/treble booster with a Scalpel volume cutter built in. The Booster Shot is a FET clean boost for the most natural clean volume boost, and also has a switch to bring it to bright, crunchy goodness. This huge boost can slam any preamp into gorgeous tones and the treble mode adds some grit on its own when cranked. Its very responsive to dynamics as well due to the fact that FETs respond like an electron tube unlike an NPN transistor. The Scalpel side of the pedal can act either as a footswitchable volume knob like a guitar has so you can always drop your volume to the appropriate level without the guesswork of a rocking volume pedal, or you can use it as a pregain control for the Booster Shot side.
