  • Learning curve on this thing exists, but it doesn't take long to understand it. Best in the front/second in a chain or somewhere other than the end in a loop. Switching from "slow" to "fast" in a loop can give an interesting short decay sound. The autowah is interesting but sucks volume.
  • Good Points: Good for what it does, envelope style filtering with an extra bit of tone control.
  • Bad Points: Limited.

  • A pretty typical synth pedal in modes and the way it behaves. Not as many options as some newer synth pedals (I have in mind the Digitech Synth Wah in specific), but IMO it sounds much, much better. More analog. The pedal is basically an envelope filter with a fuzz built into some settings. The modes/functions have already been covered, so I won't go into that...the envelope filter is definitely the weakest mode; it doesn't sound bad, exactly, but my DOD sounded better, thicker, and warmer. The two synth settings are great; I pretty much either crank the sensitivity knob to use them as either a really trebley, washed-out fuzz, or I use them at the end of a passage for a really quick, pulled-back synth filter noise. I don't know if I'd buy another one, but it's a great toy that does some fairly unique things. Makes some great ray-gun sounds as well, but they get old quickly. Pretty much any conventional application gets old quickly.
  • Good Points: Some unique sounds I haven't found anywhere else. Very analog, warm, synthy. Makes a great fuzz. Stacks beautifully on top of other gain.
  • Bad Points: Pretty limited application. Doesn't effect higher-pitch sounds anywhere near as much.

  • Three different types of synth sounds. autowah is the weakest, but not in a bad way. synth 1 gives a more defined attack, and synth2 is really defined. There is also a swtich to control how slow the envelope closes, which means more control over your sound. you can achieve some very wild sounding noise through this, especially when you put it through several distortions, or an octave pedal, or pitch altering effect. The tone-lok knobs are neat, and preserve your settings if need be. This pedal is a battery hog, but a power-suply remedies that.
  • Good Points: very tweakable, great sounds, built well, tone-lok knobs preserve knob settings if you need to
  • Bad Points: eats batteries quickly

  • this is a great pedal. this deffinately lives up to the bass in its name, since it can go nice and low in sound...thankfully ive found that each of the three modes sound different, so alot of good sounds can be made with this. a good way to get some of those big analog sounds without forking over the bling...probably my favorite synth pedal thus far...
  • Good Points: great sounds and decent construction...
  • Bad Points: none really...

  • GREAT PEDAL!!! NO (absolutly no) tracking problems, and it actualy sounds like a anolouge synth... because it is not digital, and it actualy doesn't track anything... it actualy modulates the sound by its resonante fillters... Bar none the best damn synth pedal I have ever used...
  • Good Points: Great sounds, and LOTS of tweaking posabilities. Cheep, effective, and legal...
  • Bad Points: Needs a blend knob, and a knob for the decay would be cool...

  • Got this pedal after reading the review below. At first I was a bit upset with it since it sounded like some freaky alien sound to me. I tried it with my guitar and yeah it sound like some freakish alien theme. Was about to send it back to the seller when I tried it at the end of a chain of effects with some distortions and a fuzz, wow now we are talking, this can create some harsh high frequensies and great movement. I like it a lot even though it sounds a bit too clean no matter how many distortions I put around it. I will continue experimenting with this as it has a lot to offer. Get this when you have a heap of pedals and you wonder what will change your sound.
  • Good Points: Can really affect the noise. Lots to do.
  • Bad Points: Can be too clean and to samey. Useless for vocals.

  • this pedal is great. i was alittle nervous about getting this one because i use a boss bass synth for awhile when i played bass and that was too much. but after i plugged this in and played with it for awhile, i changed my mind. i really like this pedal. it has some great sounds in it. it has a sens. knob, freq. knob, resonance knob, and level knob. also has a mode switch(autowah, synth 1, synth 2) and a decay switch(slow and fast). you can get anything from distorted growls to swirling tones buzzing around. blurps and sputters and all crazy sounds. i link this pedal infront of the pm7 phase modulator and those combined are awesome. this pedal acts as a analog synth and a resonant filter. plus more.
  • Good Points: nice sounds, amazing capibilities, sturdy casing. easy to use knobs.
  • Bad Points: depending on you rosund source the freq. and resonance knobs can kill your signal.
