Ken Multi Chorus MCH-7

Ken Multi Chorus MCH-7

The Ken Multi MCH-7 chorus pedal generates its effect by mixing the dry signal with a pitch-modulated copy of itself, creating a shimmering, detuned doubling that thickens the guitar tone. Its Rate control determines the speed of the pitch fluctuation, while Depth adjusts the intensity of the pitch shift, producing anything from a subtle thickening to a pronounced, warbling sweep. A dedicated Level knob sets the balance between the unaffected signal and the effected sound, allowing the chorus to sit subtly in the mix or dominate the output. The pedal operates in mono, with a standard input and output jack, and is powered by a 9-volt battery or an optional DC adapter, making it a straightforward addition to a pedalboard for players seeking classic modulated texture.

  • Works well for the obvious use of adding some stereo width to mono sounds. If you set up a feedback loop with just this and a delay pedal, you'll get a lot of curious rhythmic noises- good for giving an underlying click or throb to your noisescapes. If you turn the controls up high, then you get more of a phaser sound. Can't say that I find this particularly better or worse than other choruses, but it does its job and it doesn't cost the Earth.
  • Good Points: fairly cheap. stereo outs. decent range of sounds available.
  • Bad Points: brittle plastic case. not capable of much subtlety.
  • Price Paid: US$18.00

  • Well, actually i have a stereo chorus of the same company which isnt mentioned in the list. For a chorus it's the favourite i have, i prefer this above my boss CE-2 and CE-2b because the range is more wide. When used subtle and on a slow rate (which isn't possible by bosses mentioned) it's nice for electronic soundscapes. but actually nothing special here. The cheapest you can have and you won't get a loss of soundquality.
  • Good Points: more range than loads of other chorusses.
  • Bad Points: plastic case, output wire got broke easy fixed but not very reliable after all.
  • Price Paid: US$10.00
