The MXR Envelope Filter is a pedal that creates a dynamic, auto-wah style effect by sweeping a filter in response to your picking dynamics. Its primary control, the Sensitivity knob, determines how strongly the filter responds to your playing attack; a higher setting makes the filter sweep more dramatically with even subtle changes in pick force. The Q control adjusts the resonance or peak of the filter, making the sweep more pronounced and vocal-like at higher settings. A Decay knob sets how quickly the filter returns to its starting point after you stop playing, controlling the length of the effect's tail. The pedal features a true bypass switch, ensuring your dry signal remains unaffected when the effect is off. It operates on a standard 9-volt DC power supply, with no battery compartment, and includes an LED indicator to show when the effect is engaged. The compact, rugged housing is designed for pedalboard use, with input and output jacks on the top edge for easy cable routing.

- Well it's what I would call '_THE_ porn bass sound'. I bought it still wrpped in shrinkwrap in 1993 from a pawnshop in a small village far up in north Finland. It was like time would have stood still in that shop for 20 years. I guess they mostly sold harmonicas and violas.. ;) Well I got it almost for free. (mine does not have a led on it) MXR made nice little pedals in the 70s. The sound is pleasant, unlike many later evenlope filter.
- Good Points: Nice sound. Good tone.
- Bad Points: lack of controls (resonance mostly). The filter goes always 'up', no reverse.
