Realistic 4 Channel Stereo Microphone Mixer (Modified)

Realistic 4 Channel Stereo Microphone Mixer (Modified)

The Realistic 4 Channel Stereo Microphone Mixer has both line and microphone inputs for each of its four channels and is extremely easy to use. Perfect for creating feedback loops... just feed one of the output channels back into one of the input channels and boom! Noise city! This one has been modified with a momentary switch for channel 2. The sound on that channel is mixed in with the other channels only when the button is pressed and held down. Makes for some interesting experiments. Operates with a 9 volt battery only.

  • I do not own the item shown. I have a stock version (unmodified). One cool use for this mixer is, if you have only a very basic looper like a DD-20 (using SOS mode), you can run it in stereo and get two different loops by recording sounds into the A+B inputs separately, then sending the A+B outputs to the L+R mixer inputs respectively. This allows you to play them separately or combined, and to mix them/add different effects as desired... The sliders, to me, are ideal, since it's less "clumsy" than turning a knob. Some weird things I've noticed: the mixer seems to still pass a signal with the adapter in, even in the power is switched off (albeit with a slightly-lower output volume), and it will still pass a signal through the (right?) channel even after the adapter is disconnected.
  • Good Points: -Relatively compact (close to the length of 1 Danelectro mini, and the width of 3 of them side-by-side). -Nice sliders... Could perhaps be firmer, though. -CHEAP! -I think it looks kind of cool.......
  • Bad Points: -Some might be put off by it's "quirks". -It's very basic. -It's bigger than other compact, passive mixers.
