Yamaha Multi Band Distortion MBD-100
The Yamaha MBD-100 Multi Band Distortion splits the incoming signal into multiple frequency bands, each with its own distortion circuit, allowing the gain and tone of lows, mids, and highs to be shaped independently before being recombined. Dedicated controls for each band adjust the amount of distortion applied to that frequency range, while a master output level sets the overall volume of the effected signal. This band-specific processing lets you distort only the low end for a thick, gritty foundation while keeping the highs clean, or apply heavy saturation across all bands for a dense, aggressive sound. The pedal operates in mono with standard input and output jacks, and its distortion character is derived from the interaction of the separate band circuits rather than a single global gain stage.
