  • Check out the FV-200 (yes, two hundred--not listed on this site) because: it has a spring that holds back the volume a bit. The effect is quite useful: set the volume to whatever max you need, and by going beyond the spring, it lets a little more volume through, like a threshold. Works great when you have a gated pedal that needs just a bit more "ooomph" to trigger. I use it to add phasing on one channel only, that is heard only when this volume pedal is pressed beyond the spring's holdback. And it springs back to a fixed point. Like having a programmable--OK primitive--settable volume: OFF, sweep-to-high, and sFz. Great for adding scraping noise on top of a wall-o-sound. I was hoping BOSS would have the spring on their expression pedal too but no luck on that. You will never want to use a plain volume pedal after this.
  • Good Points: Solid build. Stompable. Two channels of IN/OUT. A spring near the max of the mechanism offers a simple and effective way of having two reliable high volume settings. Who would have thought that such a simple add-on gizmo would make such a quantum difference. Sweeps smoothly, too.
  • Bad Points: Other than you will never want to use a plain-sweep volume pedal after this, no bad points. A little big for use with the hand. A little loose for my taste, during sweeps. Almost perfect.

  • This pedal is very smoothe, the first volume pedal I have checked out. It's got stereo in's and out's and you can substitute one of the out puts to use as an expression pedal. It also has a tuner output. Needs no power supply and its built boss sturdy.
  • Good Points: Smoothe swelling, sturdy structure, stereo in's and out's. You don't have to feed it food.
  • Bad Points: It doesn't walk.

  • Well first, there is no pot in this thing... It runs off of a linear taper = nothing to ware out... Absolutly the best audio / volume taper ever, great for swells... Nice slow sweep, not to jerky... Best straight forward volume pedal I have ever used...
  • Good Points: Boss construction, no pot to ware out, great for doing swells...
  • Bad Points: BIG!.. this thing is so big that it needs its own zip code... Other than that, nothing...
