Danelectro Bacon & Eggs DJ-16

Danelectro Bacon & Eggs DJ-16

Plug in and you have a very cool mini amp with a powerful speaker built into the pedal! Great tone and great power. Then plug in the cord to the amplifier and it's a great distortion box. Very cool!

  • this is a very mediocre pedal in terms of a noise set up. It has a mini - amp that I haven't found use for yet. I've got it coupled with a Digitech multi-effect pedal. This helps when you need an extra boost that isn't too dramatic. This is the worst Danelectro product I've dealt with, meaning it is still worth buying, as this still outshines a ton of other pedals. It is basically worthless on its own but within a chain it works fine. Buy it for the price.
  • Good Points: Danelectro is a really good company, so it's reliable. Does give a small boost when needed Built in amp Comes with battery
  • Bad Points: Short battery life Undramatic sound changes
  • Price Paid: US$30.00

  • I got mine for a song on closeout. Probably useless for any real loud noise setup, but what you'll find that you plug it into itself (one cord only halfway in), the external speaker creates a loud hum. Hmmm. Add a tremelo, phase, flange, etc. to the ring, and you've got an endlessly fun little busking unit...I use this setup in Gary Glitter's Hard Drive, my "chintzy electronics without stereo-outs" project.
  • Good Points: It's basically a tiny speaker in a box. If you can get it cheap and like quiet noises, that's a pretty great thing to have.
  • Bad Points: If you're using it for a pedal chain or loud noise, it's nearly useless. Distortion only slightly harsher than a kazoo.

  • This pedal did give me a little distortion, but I mostly used it as the little amp. It works great, even though not very loud. I tried puting this on a pedal board and stringing all the pedals into this and this thing got hit hard. It never sounded the same after that. It lost a lot of sound and bass. But its a great practice amp and a great light distortion.
  • Good Points: Great little amp and distortion.
  • Bad Points: Plastic, cant get much sound out of it.
