  • Sounds a lot like the Hard Rock distortion, maybe that's because it has a delay on it too however. A little deeper in tone & timbre than Hard Rock, a little lighter than the Supra distortion (though the pedal is a darker red colour than the latter); at least with a contact mic. Still not as extreme as later pedals or the thrash master or metal maniac. A little harsher than the super american metal but no bass control.
  • Good Points: A predictable level of early DOD quality distortion, would have to be used with something else to get anything remarkable sounding.
  • Bad Points: If you don't like the early, less hefty distortions by DOD you won't like this.

  • dod's earliest digital distortion, before making digitech pedals. i just don't like the digital sound so much. distortions i think should have a warm feel. go with another dod distortion, but if you like digital, get an effects processor, don't waste the $.
  • Good Points: cheap, if you need another distortion, and dod makes the best, though this one ain't one of 'em.
  • Bad Points: too transparent and cold sounding...no life.
