Dunlop Cry Baby Bass 105Q

Dunlop Cry Baby Bass 105Q

The Dunlop Cry Baby Bass 105Q is a wah pedal with great dynamic range. The pedal applies the wah effect to the mids and highs only, preserving the bass tones in the original signal. On the bottom of the pedal (sort of recessed inside the bottom of the pedal) there is a volume knob as well as a Q knob which lets you alter the wah parameters. Powered by a standard 9-volt DC 'barrel' type negative tip (center) power adapter and/or 9V battery, not included.

  • Its really more of a low pass filter as doesnt have the pronounced treble of the basscentric black switch one.. there is one hell of a volume boost which can be a bit fiddly to change on the fly and the q dial is a real pig to work as it goes from nothing to manic squelsh in a 1/8 turn, a touch frustrating.. this is one i keep at the absolute end of the chain and in this instant its a keeper.. but if you place it pregain, its practically worthless.
  • Good Points: Deep deep envelope going on it. volume boost helps Easy to see on a a dark stage
  • Bad Points: You cant place it in a static position always start at the low end of the sweep fiddly q control

  • Good wah that boosts lows, but doesn't have the harsh highs of others. The great points of this pedal are the Q and volume controls! The volume has plenty of range (you can use the wah as a bosster...). The variable Q is what controls the sweep of the wah from somewhat subtle to quite pronounced. NOTE: There is also a brown round trim pot inside the battery place. The factory setting causes a delay of the effect when you take your foot off. You can control the delay turning the pot.
  • Good Points: -Q and volume controls -no button: just step on the pedal! -a trim pot that controls delay
  • Bad Points: -the sound doesn't start in the treble position...
