  • Before I bought this pedal, all of my contact mic'd sounds were a bit like rubbing a whole bunch of dry leaves together, but this adds a variety of watery and sometimes windy sounds to the mix. Also, the sound can be fantastically wobbly when a less stable signal, eg a vocal drone, goes through it. I've found all three filter settings useful for different applications.
  • Good Points: Adds watery roundness to contact mics and vocal sounds. Works well before a fuzz. Wide variety of tones. Responsive to the dynamics of the sound source.
  • Bad Points: None.
  • Price Paid: US$80.00

  • Versatile envelope filter. Great in a feedback loop or right after a contact filter or microphone. Mode switch is useful in dramatically altering the quality of sound, but it does cause sound to cut out for a split second. Sweep range of the envelope filter is not quite as dramatic as the DOD Envelope Filter.
  • Good Points: Durable. Versatile.
  • Bad Points: Battery access requires a screwdriver. Not as extreme as the DOD Envelope Filter.
