Ibanez Auto Filter AF-201
The Ibanez AF-201 Auto Filter is an envelope-following filter pedal that sweeps a filter in response to picking dynamics. Its Mode switch selects between low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass filter types, changing the character of the sweep. The Sensitivity control sets how strongly the filter reacts to input level, so harder picking produces a more pronounced sweep, while softer playing yields a subtler effect. The Peak control adjusts the filter's resonance, emphasizing frequencies around the cutoff point for a more pronounced, vocal-like response. The pedal's envelope can be set to sweep upward or downward via the Direction switch, and the Range control determines the filter's starting frequency, affecting how high or low the sweep begins. The AF-201 features a true bypass footswitch, ensuring the dry signal remains uncolored when the effect is disengaged. It operates on a standard 9V DC power supply, with no battery compartment, and includes input and output jacks for mono operation.

- Very vintage and classic sounds in one pedal. it's all in there some place. Very funky wah to very clean hush. Very bassy for basses. "Very superstious" sound for keyboards.
- Good Points: Will stand up to the test of time in durability and sounds. A whole lot of sounds in one pedal. Good for guitar, bass, and keyboards.
- Bad Points: Will drain 9 volt batteries quickly. Best to use with comp/limiter some settings will increase vol. levels dramaticly while others will decrease.
- Price Paid: US$60.00
