  • I purchased my DS10 used and supposedly broken. I was going to rob it of some parts to fix another pedal I have. So, I opened it up didn;t see anything wrong with it, save for a battery clip which I fixed in under 2 minutes. Plugged it in and saw god. I was shocked, I use a low distorted signal and use mainly tube screamers to get the sounds I am cmfortable with. THis pedal gives you al of the tube screamer characteristics and then some, it's crunchy warm and has nice clear low end. I love it it's now my favorite pedal.
  • Good Points: Good points to mention would be it's versatility, it can be a bluesy box of tone or a heavy beast that melts your face off. Versatility is key when making stomp box purchases for some folks, though the one trick ponies out there do there thing well also. The Low knob adds beautiful articulate low end, not mushy at all. The High knob adds highs, lots of them. I keep the high on maybe the first dot from the left and the Enhance knob is a knob that seems to add or remove mids. If you play with the high and enhance knobs you can get some really unique guitar tones. I'm a happy camper. If you can find one buy one, you will not be dissapointed at all.
  • Bad Points: The only bad point I feel obligated to mention is that it is not produced anymore, Though Ibanez seems to fill these product gaps with other stuff that is pretty cool as well.

  • alittle less intense than the metal charger/super metal, has stereo outs...and distortions tend to produce synth tones in a feedback loop, but this one did not give up any decent sounds...pretty loud though.
  • Good Points: decent gain
  • Bad Points: lacking in the grit dept.

  • I used to own one of these EONS ago!!! It was my first ever distortion pedal, and if I recall, it was pretty decent (for the time....the '80's, y'know!). The great thing about this pedal is the 3 band eq to tweak and tweak some more! The distortion is definitely outdated next to today's standards but a noise musician may be able to find some good tones, providing you come across one.
  • Good Points: decent construction, 3 band eq
  • Bad Points: you probably will never find one, and that's sad :(
