Ibanez Parametric EQ PPE1

Ibanez Parametric EQ PPE1

The Ibanez PPE1 Parametric EQ is a programmable parametric equalizer with 20 presets and other modes to preset many of your favorite equalization settings. In each "sound" you can set the LOW, MID, M-FRQ, M-Q, HIGH and LEVEL to any parameter you like and store the settings in the PPE1's internal memory for later recall. Really a great equalizer for noise with the fine control you have over the settings.

  • I was intrigued by this pedal from the first moment I noticed it on the noisefx website. Mine arrived in its original box with an Ibanez AC adapter, but there were no instructions, so it was necessary to do a bit of online research before I could get a handle on basic operation. I have been using it exclusively with an electric guitar.
  • Good Points: Offers a wide range of sound sculpting options, including normal frequency boosts, mild fuzz, open and closed wah variations, and acoustic and hollow-bodied jazz guitar timbres. Can store 9 user presets. Uses an AC adapter with common specifications, so many other units will also provide power safely. Small footprint. Decent amount of online documentation is available.
  • Bad Points: AC power only. Even with the instructions (which are very basic), some of the parameters can be confusing at first. There are only 9 user presets (as far as I can tell). Long discontinued, so support from Ibanez may not be guaranteed if it breaks.
