L.A.L. Noise Effects Cyber Psychic

The Lastgasp Art Laboratories Cyber Psychic Parametric Oscillo Filter is a parametric filter pedal with it's own internal oscillation system. The parametric filter is a filter effect that changes the tone by passing only the signal of specific frequency bands, thus cutting the signal of other frequency bands. Sounds are created by mixing the input signal with oscillation sounds. These oscillating sounds are created by a combination of three self-generated oscillating systems within the pedal. It can filter softly, or make chaotic noise with it's self generated oscillation. The Lastgasp Art Laboratories Cyber Psychic can add new dimensions to (rather than subtract from) your sound. It could also be called a synthesizer with its oscillation features.

  • I will start off by saying that the Cyber Psychic is worth every penny; It is the centre piece of my rig at this point. There is a definate learning curve though, and for the first little while I admit I thought I got ripped off. But not anymore, between the frequency knob, the 2 oscillators and the mystery 'Q' knob, you can play with this pedal for hours. An added bonus I have recently discovered is if you pump up the pre-amp and gain and turn the level almost completely off it cuts the input signal to the point that the Cyber Psychic almost acts like a synth. The big downside I have found is that you need to carefully consider where you put this pedal in your loop, because results vary tremendously. The pedal also cuts the signal pretty good, which I deal with by putting a distortion right before and after the cyber psychic. These L.A.L. pedals are extremely well-built and some of the slickest look custom-pedals out there...over all...ABSOLUTELY MIND BLOWING!
  • Good Points: - well built, cool silk-screen - really diverse pedal - tons and tons of expression
  • Bad Points: - cuts the signal - learning curve; takes some practice to get something cool out of it - need to choose carefully where you put it.
