Pearl Analog Delay AD-08
The Pearl AD-08 Analog Delay is a compact pedal that uses a bucket-brigade device to create its delay effect. Its Delay Time control sets the spacing between the repeated echoes, while the Repeat control adjusts the number of regenerations, allowing the echoes to either decay quickly or sustain into a dense, self-oscillating wash. The Effect Level knob blends the delayed signal with the dry guitar tone, and a dedicated Mix control further shapes the balance. The pedal features a single input and output for mono operation, with a true bypass footswitch that preserves the dry signal when the effect is disengaged. It is powered by a standard 9V DC adapter or a battery, making it suitable for pedalboards.

- OK! Ive just A/B/C'd the Pearl AD-08 alongside an Ibanez AD-80 & a Boss DM-2. It was the one which sounded the most different by far. It has much darker repeats, the AD-80 had the brightest most pristine repeats by far. Whether or not darker sounding repeats is a good or bad thing is a matter of personal taste I guess but I personally would like to have both options at hand.
- Good Points: The ability to mix between dry & wet signals is a great advantage of the AD-08. Two separate knobs as opposed to the AD-80's one mix control. The DM-2 cannot be mixed at all.
- Bad Points: If you want your repeats to ring out very pristinely this is not your best choice but Hey! Its an analog delay, if clarity is what you seek, go digital (or AD-80) This one is very different to any other ive heard which I think is a good thing, It definately has its place. They dont go cheap anymore either.

- a great little unit especially when run at lower voltages.... some thouroughly unique noises, an infinitely variable power supply is, as with most analogue stuff, fun.
- Good Points: hideously evil and individual. i love it so very much.
- Bad Points: using as an actual delay quite unlikely, better for pure pedal playing

- great little, solid pedal from the 80's. nice clear and long delay, algo great to play around with the buttons to create the "landing UFO" sounds. the best delay pedal i've come through yet. they are pretty rare now, but if you find one, BUY IT! you have my word for it, you won't regret!
