4ms Pedals The Atoner

4ms Pedals The Atoner

The Atoner device produces tones and collections of tones that sometimes mimick the input signal and difference in timbre pitches. The Atoner shifts the input pitch down octaves and fifths at jumppoints. Jumppoints are controlled by an LFO, envelope follower, and a height knob. controls: jumppoint placement, LFO : speed and depth, envelope follower: attack time and depth, squelch, noise_tone hiss, input volume, output volume, and disharmonee (the blend of clean signal)...

  • I received my my Atoner last week and have runa number of things through it.The short list is a King Capitol Punishment Utopia Synth, 201 synth, guitar with and with out E-Bow. The results varied due to the dreaded user error. this piece of equipment has a robust rich sound, not thin, not cheeze-most buzzy, this box is HEALTHY sounding. As a new user I need to spend some time with it to learn more about how it reacts to different kinds of signals. a strat single coil sounds different than a dimarzio Evolution Pick up. it seems to respond to changes in tone adjustment and volume changes Dann at 4ms. is great to deal with, very straight forward and definitely someone that I am going to do business with again based on the products he creates and the customer service 5 stars AAA+
  • Good Points: Great sound lots adjustment options, this is not your grand pa's fuzz tone. the more I use it the better it sounds. as an intuitive-learner this is a very entertaining piece o'gear. I am very happy with the Atoner sturdy as a T-34 tank. INDESTRUCTIBLE! If you like having lots of tone options many of with up have never heard before this just might be the place to look. cna this pedal make cool noises yes I have never used anything like this before but I can get a lot of sounds I could never get before.
  • Bad Points: ah, it's not revealing it's design flaws no matter how hard I try to be disappointed, so....None.

  • When I first got the atoner I was a bit intimidated. Then after some experimentation I got to be somewhat familiar with the controls, yet i still didn't understand the "atoning" controls so much, I was getting drunken bassed out tones, and then setting the tone to hi gives a screechy and slashy distortion. I would say the learning curve is quite steep on this one, it's a pedal you have to use often to understand. I finally got the atoning(release lfo-lfo speed, and attack) controls down. Depending on where the position and blend are it can tonally distort and re-shape your sound altogether, it is now a standard piece in my setup, highly recommended just be careful with it's strange controls. The atoning harmonics bending section is rather amazing with delay though!
  • Good Points: The sounds are great that you can make from this, bassy lows, shredding hi distortion and the blend and volume control, the rickle mod is essential too!
  • Bad Points: takes a while to get used to with it's ubiquotous nature and name.
