  • The safeplaces are essentially shaker boxes. Metal boxes with a contact microphone inside and random metal/plastic/glass/whatever pieces inside. Initailly i hesitated with the first run of safeplaces because this stuff is usually very easily done D.I.Y. style (even the contact mic inside). But with these newer boxes The Squarewave Parade again piqued my interest with forward thinking features. The Vulns are round boxes with very rough edges (on purpose!). Some also feature very easily scaped off paint. now where thay really take off innovation wise is the addition of a lowpass filter that can be bypassed altogether (some older ones had the filter but now it can be bypassed where before it could not) and the addition of a large arcade button momentary switch to radomly mute shaker box. So many NEW options and techniques became available with the realization of this item. I can't wait to see what They add next...
  • Good Points: cheap, easy to use, you can replace the contents of the box with anything, and it's sturdy. forward thinking innovative options that blow everything else out of the water...
  • Bad Points: none i have found yet...but what could really go wrong?
