The Tokai TDS-1 Distortion pedal uses a three-knob layout to shape its gain character. Drive sets the amount of distortion, increasing harmonic saturation and sustain as it is turned up. Tone adjusts the high-frequency content, rolling off or boosting treble to alter the brightness and edge of the distorted signal. Level controls the output volume, allowing the pedal to boost or cut the signal relative to the bypassed guitar sound. The pedal is designed for mono operation, with a standard input and output jack for connection in a signal chain. Its compact metal housing is built for pedalboard use, and it is powered by a standard 9V DC supply, though no battery compartment is specified for this model.

- I used it all the while.. i like it,,sounds clean and gives great effect blended with chorus
- Good Points: clean and crunchy..hard to explain
- Bad Points: needs equalizer to get rid of mid range frequeinces to make it sound stronger
