I bought this as a total goof. I thought it'd be an amusing bit of junk. It's baisically a very severe, square wave tremello. A signal run through it is converted into staccatto pulses. "Choppier" than most trems. It doesn't go slow enough for my liking (few trems do), but it can be set at a pretty high rate. The rate knob doesn't have a huge ammount of sensitivity, so precise tweaking can be a bit rough. The switch on mine was broken from the start. I've got to hold it in the on posistion for the effect to function. This can be sort of cool, because when I engage and disengage the effect it creates a neat swell. The downside is that when the effect is disengaged it cuts the signal off completely. Lots of weird fuzzy background noise to boot. Eh, what do you expect from a 28 year old effect that retailed for 18 bucks in 1974? At least I paid less than the 1974 MSRP... I guess I'll try to get a new switch for it. Not very robust, but an interesting little goof. Not something I'd use very often.
Good Points: Harsh square wave tremello. Unique sound. broken switch creates an interesting swell effect...
Bad Points: It was broken brand new out of the package. Cuts off signal when disengaged. Rate can't be set slow enough. 28 years old. No proper footswitch.
